WHAT A MORNING

Know how some people say that today is a gift that's why it's called a present. I don't buy that. Fact I find it cheezy.

This morning, I was happy and content. My first mistake was to listen to a video online on how American women are being sidelined by the men and only valued by their weight and beauty. Then it hit, American women aren't the only ones. At least they get an education, have some sort of equity with the men and most of all they have careers.

Some if not most of the African women are not having this so called basic needs they are getting. The African feminist are fighting for our girls to get an education, for girls to stop being married off forcefully at an early age, for girls not to undergo the female genital mutilation and for girls to have a dream of being more than just mothers, they can be anything they set their minds too. So, do you still think you have a course of complaining.

Your problems are artificial, you can fix it if you want , you make 51% of the population. African women are cultural problems, heritage they say. We have had this mind set and culture for generations and really hard to change that and yet we're are achieving it.

Enough with that. The other mistake I made this morning was to compliment my female colleageu on her dressing and fact that her skirt and heels made her legs look longer and very nice.

'' Are you gay?'' she asked.

What!

Now adays compliments need to be filtered. Am perceived lesbian because I complimented her legs. My bad.

Get me right, I have no problems with homosexuality at all. I expected her to say thank you, or engage in endless talk of how she came about the skirt and heels and the time she took to decide whether they go together and how she made sure she was okay for office. a.k.a. female talk.

Well that's my morning. I have learnt to keep the compliments to myself and also appreciate my life, I mean if American women are complaining, what will the rest of the world do?
